Ashley Noell, 35 years old, grew up in the small town of Lexington, Virginia. Growing up in a town without many Jews, her mother felt that it was very important to be exposed to the Jewish culture. Ashley attended Synagogue with her family, weekly, and was Bat Mitzvahed at the age of 13. During her senior year of high school, Ashley applied for and was chosen to attend Birthright Israel. It brought her closer to the religion on level she had not before known. Ashley attended a college which, again, had very little Jewish community. She earned a Registered Nursing degree and decided to move to an area with a larger Jewish population.
Ashley now lives and works in Richmond, Virginia. Since becoming a local, she has immersed herself in the community. In addition to being a donor to Federation, her involvement within the Richmond Jewish community includes serving as a current board member of the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond, serving as the YAD Campaign Chair and being very active in NetworkJCFR. Prior to these roles Ashley was the NetworkJCFR Tikkun Olam chair. She finds excitement in being Jewish, being part of a larger community and is always seeking ways to ensure a Jewish future.
