JCPA mourns the loss of life during the Hajj ritual

Washington, D.C. – The Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) mourns the heartbreaking loss of over 700 lives during the Hajj pilgrimage in Mina this past week.  This tragedy comes at a poignant moment – as the Jewish and Muslim calendars coincide the Hajj and the Jewish High Holidays.  We reach out during this time of reflection and prayer to extend our deepest condolences. Our hearts and prayers are with the victims and their families as well as injured or those who lives will be forever pained because of this tragedy.  

JCPA, the public affairs arm of the organized Jewish community, serves as the national coordinating and advisory body for the 16 national and 125 local agencies comprising the field of Jewish community relations.
