New HHS Contraceptives Rule

by Administrator

Contraceptives for women must now be covered under most health insurance plans, according to a new rule by the Department of Health and Human Services. The rule, issued last week, requires that contraceptive and preventative services be provided to all women with health insurance coverage, but allows an exemption for certain religious non-profit organizations.  It is critical the United States ensures quality health care for all women, regardless of how much they earn.  We applaud the Administration for their careful consideration of the religious liberty and women’s health implications of this rule. We thank the White House for their hard work to strike a policy balance that acknowledges the competing interests.
