JCPA's Statement On The Arrest Of JDL Members Suspected Of Terrorism Attempt"We are deeply concerned by reports that members of the Jewish Defense League planned to bomb several targets including a California mosque and the office of a Member of Congress. Fortunately, the FBI was able to arrest the suspects before any damage was inflicted. While the complete story concerning the incident is not yet clear, if the allegations prove correct, we join in unequivocal condemnation of any such violent action. We deplore terrorism from any source. Violence against Muslim and Arab Americans is no more acceptable than against any other Americans. We underscore the fact that the accused are in no way associated with responsible Jewish organizations and that the Jewish community, like people of conscience everywhere, condemn such behavior". ### JCPA, the public affairs arm of the organized Jewish community, serves as the national coordinating and advisory body for the 13 national and 123 local agencies comprising the field of Jewish community relations. |
