The Green Climate Fund

by jgilad

This month, 125 faith organizations joined together to pen a letter to our elected officials in both the Senate and the House of Representatives in support of the 2017 appropriations for the Green Climate Fund (GCF). The Green Climate Fund – with contributions from both developing and developed countries – provides resources for sustainable development to combat the root causes of climate change and adaptation initiatives to minimize its effects. The Fund stands at the intersection of our Jewish values of alleviating poverty and protecting our earth. Thirteen Jewish Community Relations Councils and eight national Jewish organizations (including the Union of Reform Judaism, the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association, and the Rabbinical Assembly) signed onto the interfaith letter. Read coverage of the letter in The Hill here and sign an individual action alert to your Members of Congress here.
