Tammy Gilden, Associate Director, Policy, Advocacy, and Communications

As Associate Director of Policy, Advocacy, and Communications, Tammy Gilden develops, implements, and manages JCPA’s domestic and international policy programming and advocacy strategy. Her main areas of expertise are international human rights, immigrant and refugee policy, civil rights, and criminal justice reform.

Before moving to New York, Tammy served as a staffer in U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein’s office for three years, where she covered energy, science, and transportation policy. Tammy also spent several years in campaign consulting, specializing in strategic messaging and voter data analysis, and in field organizing for President Obama’s campaigns in Nevada (2008) and Florida (2012), as well as for several state and local campaigns.

A California native, Tammy graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley. She is an active member of the Junior League, Young Foreign Policy Professionals, and Network 20/20, a nonprofit that trains rising leaders in foreign policy. She was a proud Avodah Justice Fellow for 2017-18.
